New Prompt Payment Discussion Paper Released by BC Government

The BC government has published a new Discussion Paper on the Construction Prompt Payment Act, which is intended to explain some key components of the Act and to gather feedback from impacted parties.

CHBA BC will be preparing a new submission letter as part of our continued advocacy on this issue, adding to our past industry feedback and the position paper we released when the legislation was first proposed.

Province Briefs CHBA BC on the Heritage Conservation Act Transformation Project

Staff from the Ministry of Forests joined the CHBA BC Government Relations Committee last week to share updates on the Heritage Conservation Act Transformation Project (HCATP) and to answer questions from Committee members.

This meeting builds on our advocacy efforts regarding these upcoming regulatory changes and will will help inform our ongoing dialogue with the province.

Our most recent submission on the HCAPT can be found here and additional information about our advocacy on this file is available on our Current Issues web page. CHBA BC continues to be highly engaged with this issue and involved in the latest stage of consultation with the government.
